Kern Sierra Unit President Letter

Hello to all members at the start of the 2026 year. I think you will be seeing a more active events list in our Kern Sierra unit this year.

We will have a booth and a raffle at the Sportsman Boat and RV show at the Kern County fairgrounds on March 13-15, 2026.

Contact me if you can offer a couple of hours supporting us the booth.

As our Kern County Parks Service completes the repairs along the Kern river equestrian trails, I will be organizing some work parties to clean up parts of the trails that have gone into disrepair due to non-use for the last two years.

I will also be working on an event day where we could have a packing training class and an obstacle class in the late spring.

I do not have any information yet about any trail work or repairs on Forestry lands.
